Starting a Journey

I've heard it time and time again through my life, worded many different ways... You have to take that first step to start any journey. To get that forward momentum, to start that object in motion, you have to take action. You have to implement.

You have to learn to crawl before you can walk, before you can run. But to start a journey, you have to make the first move. That first step forward. An object in motion tends to stay in motion. Remember that from science class back in high school. I know that was long ago for some of us, but how does that object get into motion? How do YOU? It's that first step.

And sometimes when you take that first step, well you won't know exactly where you are going or how you are going to get there, but taking that first step gets you going.

Now, let me be clear, I'm NOT saying, go off half cocked with no plan. Oh no, no. Plans are good and at times very necessary. What I'm saying is that, you can plan yourself into never starting to move. I heard this quote from a TV show, "Plan and prepare for every possibility, and you will never act. It is nobler to have courage as we stumble into half the things we fear than to analyze every possible obstacle and begin nothing. Great things are achieved by embracing great dangers." Now in the show they credited Xerxes for saying this and history says there may have been a conversation where he said something similar. Well it's still a good quote.

What other quotes or phrases have you heard to get you motivated and moving?
